The New Lenormand is a 36 cards oracle presented in a
format of 2,25" x 3,5". Each card has what I call the house
number at the upper left hand-side corner. At the upper
right hand side you will find the Spanish name of the card.
The English name is At the bottom left hand-side corner. At
the bottom right hand-side of the card you see the
traditionally associated Playing Card.
The central part of the card deserves a special mention as
it is the part that carries with the strongest symbolism.
In the central illustration you will find some graphic help
to interpret The New Lenormand. Looking at the card 26. The
Book, we can see it is actually a Book of Shadows. The
witches and warlocks have used them for centuries to record
their magical experiences and knowledge. The Book is to be
past from generation to generation to avoid this knowledge
to be forgotten or lost. So this card means: Knowledge,
Study, Teaching.
It is also true that The Book of Shadows represents the
hermetic knowledge. The knowledge that is forbidden for the
majority of the human beings. This helps us to understand
that another important keyword could be secrets, something
you still don’t know, something that can’t be known at the
moment.
